Remove the back panel of your laptop with a screwdriver

Most HP laptops require the removal of the rear panel for battery replacement. This means you may have to buy a Phillips-head screwdriver #0 or a laptop starter kit, both of which are inexpensive and can make the process of installing a new battery simpler.

There may be some rubber legs on the back panel that you have to remove before you can access the battery, but this depends on your HP laptop model. Use a plastic opener to pry through the rubber, allowing you to remove the screws that hold the body of the laptop.

Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the screws on the rear panel and then carefully remove the back cover of your laptop. This may require you to use a plastic tool again to loosen the tip. • Connect the cable on your computer to the new battery carefully
  • Plug your battery back into the body of your device
  • Make sure the battery is properly installed, but not too tight as it may damage some components

Reattach the rear panel

Align the back cover with the rest of your laptop before using a Phillips screwdriver to reattach the cover. Again, you should be careful not to make items too tight or loose, as one of them can damage your device. Replace the rubber footing on the bottom of your laptop if your computer has one.

Confirm performance with new battery reports

Once everything is lined up and reunited, connect your computer to a power source. After a few minutes of charging, turn on your laptop to make sure everything starts correctly.
